This add-on is a little pricey but is worth it. The horn is the best horn ever! It’s cab is awesome. This locomotive made “Trainz 2” Mac world a better place!

Bought these during the labour day sale at a reduced price and am pleased that I did. Three nice skins means I can vary the look of a consist using the same loco. The detailing on the body and bogies is to JRs usual high standards of realism and there is a nice working cab interior too. Cab lights, ditch lights that flash when you use the (rather good) horn, walkway and number board lights are all functional as are the windscreen wipers and cab windows (from the interior). The engine sounds are good and sometimes the compressor (I assume) can be heard kicking in and out. This loco can consume diesel and sand.
In terms of operation this is one of the fastest accelerating units I own and has tremendous adhesion to the rail. It pulls very strongly when coupled to a heavy train and if worked hard will overheat and need to come off line, but this only happens when you have really pushed it quite hard, unlike some models which I feel overheat too readily.
One tiny gripe is that the L.O.D. kicks in a touch early for my taste on the grill above the blower duct which goes to a black rectangle when viewed from fairly close. This won’t stop me from giving this engine regular use though as the overall package is excellent.
Very happy with this nice addition to my CSX stable. Five stars.
