    First up this is a very nicely rendered engine. It looks like it might actually be heavy. The paint work and weathering are highly realistic as is the detail all round. Custom cab looks good to me though I’ve never been in one… Engine sounds are cool with lots of roaring and whistling as you ramp up or down the notches. As well as headlamps there are also ditch lights which will flash after using the horn, cab lights, marker lights, walkway lights and number box illumination to control. The cab windows are individually adjustable as are the cab doors and mirror/air deflectors. This engine will also consume sand and diesel (though to date my sand level hasn’t dropped).

    Compared to my JR 4000hp C40 dash 8s this unit (ostensibly 3900hp) seems a bit under powered and quickly runs out of adhesion. Putting another one online solves this of course but I’m not sure why this should be the case.

    Great locomotive overall. I’m going 4 stars because at this price point I think another skin to help build more realistic looking consists would be nice.
