Even though this High Hood GP38-2 is a freeware member in the Trainz family, this locomotive is perfect for those who want a Norfolk Southern High Hood, and is authentic with the classic P5 horn common on former Southern Railway locomotives, and sounds just like the prototype. A very nice little locomotive to use for working on a fictional NS branch line, to being temporarily assigned to substitute as a switcher at Amtrak’s Wilmington Shops on the default NEC in Trainz 12. Final thought, the NS GP38-2 High Hood is a perfect locomotive, and versatile for any assignment you could use it for.

I have a route that is loosely based on Atlanta on the NS. I love using these to switch out the yards. One of the best freeware engines out there!
