This is a great looking model, everything is accurate and has a nice well worked look. It has working front and rear class lights (red, green, white), custom cab, and nice exhaust visuals that go along with how much the locomotive is pulling and what notch it is in. However I will say there is a problem with the sounds. I will start with the horn. I understand that it is meant to be a fouled, quilled Leslie S5T (according to Alex Wood), however the sound just comes across as less than mediocre and not pleasant to the ear, the bell is slightly similar but tolerable. I will also say that the startup takes a clip from the other 645E3 turbo startup sound that comes from JR (Eagle River GP40-2 for example) and is spliced together with the new SD40 sound, it is not EXTREMELY noticeable but something to be mentioned that the transition does not sound good. Was this worth the 15 dollars? Sure. But you must know how to replace sound kuids in order to make this locomotive sound better to match the visual quality. This is my first disappointment from Jointed Rail Payware, simply because the sounds feel slightly rushed and not up to par with other sounds that JR uses.
